Research/Job Area- Food process engineering, food chemistry/science, chemical engineering ( Food Safety and Sustainability Engineering)
Location- University of Alberta, Canada
Eligibility/Qualification– The position requires a researcher with experience in ACP characterization, engineering design and development of ACP systems and mycotoxin analysis. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary research team including graduate students and industry partners.
- PhD in food process engineering, food chemistry/science, chemical engineering;
- Experience in ACP technology research in food processing;
- Experience in fungal spore and mycotoxin analysis and characterization;
- Strong engineering skills
- Demonstrated record of research productivity
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary research project
Job/Position Description- Research group is looking for a post-doctoral fellow to join our research group, in the interdisciplinary area of mycotoxin degradation in feed/food products by atmospheric cold plasma (ACP) technology. The successful candidate will conduct research in following areas: ï‚· Effect of process and product parameters on mycotoxin and fungal spore degradation by ACP technology ï‚· Plasma characterization and plasma chemistry at different process conditions ï‚· Fungal inactivation mechanisms and mycotoxin degradation mechanisms/pathways
