Post-doctoral positions in Spain, ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences

Designation/Position- Post-doctoral positions in Spain

ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences invites application for Post-doctoral positions in Spain from eligible and interested candidates

About-  The Functional Optoelectronic NanoMaterials group at ICFO, led by ICREA Prof. Gerasimos Konstantatos, is launching a research program on the design, synthesis and engineering of nanostructured inorganic materials based on Environmentally Friendly Earth Abundant elements for Energy harvesting and solar cell applications.

Research/Job Area-  Material Science, Physics or Electrical Engineering

Location-  ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences, Spain

Eligibility/Qualification–

Apart from the background and skills required for the positions (please, refer to the project description for details), as a general requirement, candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) in Material Science, Physics or Electrical Engineering, prior to taking up the position.

No restrictions of citizenship apply to the ICFO positions. Female scientists are encouraged to apply. Persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Salaries will be commensurate with the experience of the candidates.

Job/Position Description-  The program will develop new hierarchical engineering schemes of inorganic nanocrystalline semiconductor compounds from the atomic to the suprananocrystalline level to develop high performance low-cost solution-processed solar cells that can cover the broad solar spectrum from the visible to the infrared in both single junction and tandem architectures.

Alternatively the candidate should have demonstrated expertise on thin film PV technologies with high performance devices (including CZTS, CIGS, or perovskite (preferably on Pb-free ones). The position(s) is available for three years renewable on an annual basis depending on the performance of the incumbent and the progress of the project.

For further information about the Functional Optoelectronic NanoMaterials research group at ICFO, please see https://www.icfo.eu/research/groups-details?group_id=30, or contact Prof. Dr. Gerasimos Konstantatos ([email protected]).

How to Apply-

To apply, suitable candidates are requested to submit (in English) the following material:

  • A Cover/Presentation letter with a declaration of interest, outlining past research achievements and a description of future research aspirations.
  • A Curriculum Vitae with research publications, as well as your contact details.
  • Via the online application form, the candidate should indicate two referees, who we will contact for their reference letters if necessary.

Candidates should be willing to be contacted by phone during the selection process.

The call will remain open until suitable candidates are identified.
