Research/Job Area- Chemistry, electrochemistry, materials science, and physics
Project Title- Development of Si Anode materials for Lithium ion batteries
Location- University of Limerick, Ireland
- Doctoral degree (level 10 NFQ) in relevant area (chemistry, electrochemistry, materials science, and physics). Must be finalised at time of application. Please give date of Viva.
- Strong publication record in top quartile journals with relevant publications as first author.
- Prior experience in battery electrochemistry.
- Prior experience of implementing a research project and contribution towards deliverables.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in nanomaterials synthesis.
- Experience in Li-ion batteries.
- Post Doctoral experience in batteries.
- Experience in project management support.
- Experience in co-supervision of PhDs.
- Experience in device characterisation of nanostructures.
- Evidence of working with nanostructured materials.
- Experience in working in a multi-partner consortium and contribution to reports.
Job/Position Description- This position will involve materials and electrochemical battery research focused towards the development of nanostructured silicon based anodes for lithium ion batteries, their characterisation using a range of techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM, and their evaluation in lithium ion half cells and full cells in a range of electrolytes including ionic liquids. The position will involve meeting the milestones and deliverables on the EU funded project in terms of provision of samples to partners in our work-packages in a timely manner and interaction and collaboration with multiple partners across Europe in Industry and Academia.
Contract Type: Specific Purpose
Salary Scale: €37,223 – €48,205 p.a. pro rata (maximum starting salary €44,266 p.a. pro rata)
