About- The main competencies at the department of Industrial and Materials Science are found in the areas of: Human-Technology Interaction | Form and Function | Modeling and Simulation | Product Development | Material | Production and in the interaction between these areas. The research develops the industrial process, from need to finished product while creating added value. To combine skills throughout the whole chain distinguishes the department both nationally and internationally. Here we gather internationally prominent researchers, in dynamic and outstanding research environments, as well as in national and international research networks.

Eligibility/Qualification–
The ideal candidate will have a background in Physics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related disciplines with a strong focus on polymers.

In particular, experience with the thermo- and/or fluid dynamics of polymers and related techniques will be an advantage.

The project will comprise work on electrical, rheological, thermal and mechanical properties in the framework of compositional and process optimization.

Job/Position Description- 

Polymer nanocomposites based on high aspect ratio fillers have attracted significant attention due to their superior electrical and mechanical performance. In this project we aim to study the fundamental structure property relations and their influence in the overall dispersion and subsequent properties of interest.

The project is part of a long-standing industrial collaboration with Borealis AB. Borealis is a leading provider of innovative solutions in the fields of polyolefins, base chemicals and fertilizers. Furthermore, the position will involve strong interactions with the Department Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the Department of Physics at Chalmers. 

The position will be based at the Division of Engineering Materials, Department of Industrial and Materials Science at Chalmers. Engineering Materials is centered on the relationship between technological materials’ microstructural structure and their properties.The appointment will be for 2 years from the start of the contract.

Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of two years (1+1).
