About- The Department of Chemistry at Masaryk University & the International Clinical Research Centre in the Czech Republic offers postdoctoral position in organic synthesis. Selected candidate will join the Laboratory of Organic Synthesis and Medicinal Chemistry supervised by Dr. Jakub Svenda and Dr. Kamil Paruch (see: orgsyn.sci.muni.cz).

Project Title- Organic Synthesis and Medicinal Chemistry
Location- Masaryk University, Czech Republic
Eligibility/Qualification–
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in chemistry and have a solid knowledge/experience in organic synthesis.
The applicant should be able to independently design and execute multistep synthetic sequences, be able to perform data/result analysis and interpretation, and should have fundamental skills in scientific writing.
Job/Position Description- The researcher will have an opportunity to actively participate in the design of synthetic routes and the development of methodologies that enable concise and practical preparation of analogs of natural products with important biological activity. Current research areas of biomedical interest include small-molecule modulation of adenylyl cyclases, kinases, nucleases and ribosomes.
The postdoctoral researcher can gain further experience through mentoring of junior students, which may prove valuable to his/her future independent career. Majority of the ongoing research is interdisciplinary and benefits from the unique biomedical platform existing between Masaryk University and the International Clinical Research Centre (ICRC).
ICRC is a joint research centre of St. Anne´s University Hospital in Brno and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota (USA) and links together pre-clinical basic research with clinical research
Salary: 2 000 EUR/month
