Research/Job Area-  Electrochemistry and surface physics

Location- Aalto University, Finland

Eligibility/Qualification–Research group is looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to work on thermophotonic and electrochemical energy converters based on III-V compound semiconductors. The position mainly deals with fabricating, analysing or designing III-V devices in collaboration with a versatile research team of theoreticians and experimentalists. Depending on your background, you will have the possibility to contribute to the experimental work of our group aiming to demonstrate the next break-throughs in solid state cooling and electrochemical energy converters.

A succesful candidate is likely to be an ambitious and resourceful researcher wanting to master high efficiency compound semiconductor device fabrication, design and analysis.

The ideal candidate has:

• Experience on fabricating and processing compound semiconductor light emitting/solar cells devices (emphasis on GaAs based materials)
• Insight on the electrochemistry and surface physics of III-V materials
• Experience on thin film processing
• Team working skills and sociable character
• Aptitude for creative, open minded and independent thinking

Job/Position Description-  You will be working in a research team of ~10 persons working on closely connected topics.The research takes place at Aalto University and Micronova clean room facilities, located at Espoo, Finland. Micronova is the largest clean room facility in the Nordic countries and Finland/Helsinki offers a clean, safe and naturally beautiful environment having several world’s best country/city nominations over the past few years, as well as four distinct seasons.

The position is scheduled for 2 years. The expected starting salary for a Postdoctoral Researcher is approx. 3700 €/month and follows the salary system of the Finnish universities. We wish to fill the position as soon as possible and are also interested in gifted master’s thesis workers and graduate students. The annual workload of research and teaching staff at Aalto University is 1624 hours. The contract includes occupational health care and social security benefits.
