Research/Job Area- 

Category I : (Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines).

(i) Geologist, Group A : 50

(ii) Geophysicist, Group A : 14

(iii) Chemist. Group A : 15

Category II : ( Positions in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources)

(i) Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B), Group A : 27

The above numbers of vacancies are liable to alteration.

Minimum Educational Qualification

(i) For Geologists Gr ‘A’

(a) Master’s degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Geophysical Technology

( b ) For Geophysicists Gr’ A ‘

M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) Or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics)

( c ) F or Chemists Gr ‘A’

M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry

Location- India


Age Limits:

(a) For Geologist and Geophysicist and Chemist (Group ‘A’) – 32 years

(b) For Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) (Group A) – 35 years

Age relaxation – as per gov norms.

Job/Position Description-  Appointments will be made on a temporary basis in the first instance.

Application Fee- 200 Rs.

How to Apply- Candidate s are required to apply on line only by using the website. Brief instructions for filling up the online Application Form have been given in Appendix-II. Detailed instructions are available on the above mentioned website.

Candidates are not required to submit hard copy of their application to the commission at this stage.

The candidates admission at all the stages of examination for which they are admitted by the Commission viz. Written Examination and Interview Test will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Candidates are requested to keep ready the attested copies of the following documents for submission to the Commission soon after the declaration of the result of the written part of the examination which is likely to be declared in the month of August, 2019.

1. Certificate of Age.

2. Certificate of Educational Qualification.

3. Certificate in support of claim to belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Economically Weaker Sections and Other Backward Classes where applicable.

4. Certificate in support of claim for age/ fee concession, wherever applicable.

5. Certificate in support of being persons with benchmark disability (wherever applicable).
